The Centropen Company has been producing its quality writing and drawing supplies, designed for the broadest possible utilisation, for nearly 70 years.
We give special priority to the development of new products within our activities, with the aim to meet the increasing demands of our customers. The complex technological processes lead to a completely new approach towards the utilisation of writing and drawing supplies. The healthy way to write – these five words are one of the driving forces behind the work of our Company’s design and development engineers. The growing popularity of products bearing the Centropen brand shows that we have been successful in fulfilling the company’s basic vision both in the Czech Republic and overseas.
History
STENO
The first Centropen fountain pen
The beginning of the development and production of writing and drawing supplies bearing the Centropen brand dates back to 1940 when the first production lines were put into operation in Dačice, South Bohemia. The plants in Dačice were no exception to the effects of historical events. In 1948, all the shop floors of plants were nationalised and the Centropen Company began operating as a branch of the KOH-I-NOOR Company from 1964. The situation only changed as late as 1989, when the Company was first transformed to a state-owned enterprise, and subsequently to a private joint-stock company in 1992.
The situation today
During the last decades, while the Company has been operating on domestic and foreign markets, the Centropen brand has become synonymous with high-quality and affordable writing and drawing supplies for a wide range of customers.
Today, the Centropen brand combines in itself a modern ergonomic design and perfect functional properties, and the Company belongs among the leading producers of writing and drawing supplies with a triangular grip. The quality of the Centropen Company’s products, their prices, and the promptness and reliability of our supplies are the inspiration behind an ever growing number of customers. Alongside that, the products may be purchased through a number of contractual high-capacity warehouses or in the wide network of stationery stores and markets.

The writing and drawing supplies have a triangular cross-section in the area where the finger grip is made, ensuring a natural ‘pinch’ grip which guarantees a healthy, light and pleasant way of drawing or writing.
